The jubilee Conference is dedicated to the evaluation of the situation with regards the modern state of the Tunguska problem. It will summarize the modern investigations in the area, it will discuss the Tunguska phenomenon as a global cosmic and planetary event the cause of which remains unsolved.

- Methods in Tunguska-related research. The necessity of scientific elaboration of the Tunguska event investigations.
- Paradoxes of the Tunguska event. Critiques of obsolete impact models, and a synthesis of current impact models. Hypotheses and investigation approaches.
- Analytic and information software for the Tunguska Event related research. Computer modeling.
- New results: fireball, felled trees, fire, burnt marks on trees, the search for cometary/asteroidal materials, etc. Description of databases as the essence of the factual data.
- Applied aspects of the Tunguska phenomenon related research. Ecological consequences of Earth impactors.
- Social and cultural aspect of the Tunguska impact. International Interdisciplinary Expedition - social and cultural phenomenon.

The Tunguska Phenomenon: 90 Years of Investigations
Krasnoyarsk and Vanavara 30th June - 6th July 1998

For three sweltering summer days from 30th June to 2nd July 1998, Krasnoyarsk's Historical Cultural center on the banks of the mighty Yenisei river was the site ot the conkrence "Tunguska Phenomenon: 90 Years of Investigations". Present were 150 delegates from Russia, Italy, the USA, Japan and Great Britain, as well as representatives of the Evenki nation - the aboriginal inhabitants of the Tunguska area. Sixty scientific papers were heard, presenting recent research into the phenomenon, as well as plans for forthcoming expeditions.
